Tis the time for sharing..

It's been awhile since I had a competition, and I've been thinking about this one for awhile, and thought the Christmas is the perfect time!
I love when I go into a clients home and they show me a print or album that they have made from the photos I had taken for them. I am old-school in that i think prints will last forever whereas photos on a hard-drive, your great grandchildren are never going to see. I'm starting to include more print and album options in my business and I'm really excited about two options in particular- fine art paper and metallic.
This Christmas, I want you to share with me how you have displayed photos I have taken for you- examples, how to enter and what you win below.

A canvas hanging at home by Amanda

A painting made from a photo I took from Jaimie

Table number cards at a wedding made from the engagement photos by Jessie

How to Enter: Take a photo of where you have a photograph I have taken for you displayed. Email me the image at erin@erinwoodgatephotography.com with 'Competition' in the subject line and on Christmas eve I will put them all into a folder on my facebook group and randomly select a winner using random.org. No votes or shares I'm just excited to see what you have done with the photos I've taken.

What you win: One winner will get a fine art paper/Metallic print of their choice printed (size up to 11x14/12x12). Everyone else who enters will lock in 2013 prices for their next shoot.

What are you waiting for, take your phone, take a photo and send it to me!

2011 lil model competition!

Over the last year I've aquired some amazing props to be used in my shoots and as of late haven't had the chance to use them! So I am running a lil model competition, as most of my props are for little people- everything from cocoons for newborns to a little wooden rocking chair for an up to 6 year old so that will be the main guideline for the competition!
So here's how it all works-
- You can enter either your child or a child known to you with permission from parents age 0-6yrs
- Parents MUST be willing to sign a model release meaning that the photos can be used by me both online and in printed portfolios and if relevant in some advertising. (I won't sell the images to any third party sites like stock photos etc)
- Everyone who enters gets a $50 voucher towards any photography session with me
- Must be located on the Central Coast or willing to travel
So do you have or know of a little one that you would love to have gorgeous photos of, some of them wearing some cool props? What you have to do to enter is-
- 'Like' then post a photo of the lil model on my facebook page
- Get all your friends to 'Like' my page and 'like' your photo and the person with the highest 'likes' on the 31st of January wins!

Dreamy and Girly

What Grandma doesn't like photos of their grandchildren, seriously?
Sometimes they are the sole reason why families would come in to get photos at the portrait studios I've worked in, "Grandma had been on my back to get my grad photo done since I graduated last year', was something very commonly heard when I worked in Canada. This session was so much fun for me, I had taken maternity and newborn photos of little Audrey and when her and Charis' Grandma asked me back to do a session with both her granddaughters I was excited to use some props that I had wanted to use for awhile and make it a very girly, dream-like session. You can also check out the sneak peaks to this session.

So if you like what you see above and would like to book a session in time for Christmas, first go to my Facebook page and enter the competition then email me at erin(at)erinwoodgatesphotography.com to start chatting about how we can personalize your session!

'In Love' session and Announcing a new competition!

So after almost 2 months of living out of suitcases I'm finally settled back in at home in OZ. I still have a bunch of shoots to share from while I was still in Canada so they will still be rolling out over the next little while.
February this year seems like so long ago now and it was then that I did Amanda and Brandon's first shoot which was for their engagement. I was really happy with some of the pictures and loved how totally different they were to anything that I would be able to capture at home, even though bits of snow whipping you in the face is kinda the same as sand whipping you in the face and I'm still so glad that I was able to make that memory with them.
Summer came around and I ran a Facebook competition to gain some exposure while I was in London and Amanda, on the cusp of their wedding were the lucky winners so I was happy to photograph this happy young couple in a place special to them, Springbank park.
For the new competition, all you need to do is 'Like' my Facebook page then set your Facebook status as 'I want to win a photography session with (@) Erin Woodgate's Photography in time for Christmas!' And make sure you do the tag using the (@) so that I can see it appear on my page and you enter the draw!
The competition will run for 2 weeks up until Halloween and the 1 hr session will include a cd of edited images and must be done before Christmas on the Central Coast.

London Ontario Family Photographer

Crystal first contacted me about shooting her wedding which I was really excited about as there is going to be a butterfly release and part of it takes part at a waterfall! Really excited, that was until I heard the date and I already had a wedding booked. So instead we decided to do an engagement shoot which really actually turned out to be more of a family shoot with their two gorgeous kids. I also had them model some of Planet Playground's 'Mommy and Me' dresses, perfect for a shoot in the park with a kind of vintage feel to it. I can't wait to do the trash the dress underneath the waterfall at the end of August!

These are the Planet Playground dresses. Too cute!

P.S Don't forget to enter to win a free photography session like this! There aren't many entries yet and it ends in 3 days so you've got a good chance!
