Precious things..

Back in January, I started doing the 52 project and really, unfortunately, January was where it ended also. I would really like to some how catch up but we'll see how I go. These photos are the results of one of the first 'challenges' to shoot a simple still life- That originated with my 'Hanson' sunglasses and it spiraled to documenting all of the jewellery that I'd got for christmas. I'm glad I did now because, like with all photographs it documents a time that has past, the paint on the sunglasses is peeling off, the headband broken, watch all scratched up so it's nice to have photos of these things from when they were all new.
Check out Hanson's Give a little video
There's no place like home.. A nice reminder from Danii..
Gram Fenton, Probably the handiest present I've been given in awhile.
Tea bag and cup earrings from Mum via Etsy
Barbie heels and cupcakes, can't get much girly-er than that! From the best seller on Etsy- Rocknrollbaby
1 pound Primark baby!
Possibly the cutest best friend bracelet around

Memory Mondays Week 3

Back in early March after Juliet had given birth to 4 kittens, when they were big enough to stand Chanel and I decided it would be hilarious to take photos of the Kittens Anne Geddes style. These are half of the best of the photos that we took. the other half will come on another memory mondays post.
Happy Australia Day!
The Calendar that I made with the photos. If you are interested in getting one of these, let me know, they can start on any month of the year.

Keeping it Urban..

The shopping season is in full swing and with it comes numerous marketing campaigns including my (what feels like) daily onslaught of emails promoting whatever the special is of the day. One of my faves to quickly look through is Urban Outfitters and when I went to Toronto a couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to stumble into the store and play with some of the toys there. These are some of my faves..

Or, how about, "Cheesed off with cheesy photo session spice?"

Ok, I'm the first to admit it, I like cheesy things. Many of you who know me would know this. Give me a top 100 hits from the 90's mix cd and a pair of platforms and i'll be entertained for weeks. But how cheesy is too cheesy?
For over a year while saving up to come overseas I worked in a family photography studio. A lot of people would come in and ask for nothing posed, nothing cheesy, nothing stiff. Great, these people want something different so lets break out the hula hoops, have a pillow fight, made Dad be a choo choo train and laugh with the kids acting naturally rather than, Ok ready 1.2.3.. SMILE! but you know what, I found even those families who came in wanting the natural photos, would buy the posed, 'lil jonny has the best smile' photos and sometimes like them more than the pillow fights.
Why did I start thinking about this? I've been going through my hard drive and found some photos that I took for a friend last Christmas that we had a lot of fun taking, oozing the cheese and mucking about.. enjoy..
Introducing.. The North boys..
Do you like posed photos or prefer natural ones?

Halifax Farmers Market

Everyone in this town loves the fact that once a week (be it early on a Saturday morning) they can go downtown and have the best that the maritimes has to offer, organic , hand made, sustainable, local, ethical, Halifax Farmers Market.
My visits usually consist of: heading straight for the waffles,
drooling over the Susie shortbread's,
people-watching in the grand square,
paying a visit to some of my favorite local artists and designers,
checking out the local produce,
listening to the nova-scotian music,
then stocking up on the good stuff..

etsy etc

Ok So, anyone who knows me well, knows this pattern. I have a cupcake dress made out of it and also a toiletries bag, and a backpack (which i'm looking forward to getting home to be able to use). Anyone who knows me also knows that I love accessories, art and (you should know this just by the url..) cupcakes and cameras.. So here are some of my favorite new finds on a wonderful website called etsy (seriously go there and look its amazing)
On a scrabble tile. love it..
<3>
Love the detailed work in this.. and its message :)
I love how simple but effective these are, I'm sure even with my little jewelry making knowledge (i took into to jewelry at NSCAD in my 3rd yr) i could do this, but actually having the materials and being bothered to do it is another thing..
I love how random materials can be made into something amazing..
If life were primary school and someone was trying to buy my friendship. Giving me this ring would buy it.
My Mum has installed a love of Babushkas into me. I think its just because I love her that i love them. That tends to be how i roll.. I love everything over at this etsy store.

I love pastels and i love vintage design..
